Overview

Kent Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious road traffic collision in Westbrook Avenue, Margate, which left a motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries.

The incident occurred shortly before 4pm on Tuesday, 5 August, and involved a white Skoda Yeti and a black and silver Aprilia motorcycle.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was airlifted to a London hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are working to determine the full circumstances and are urging any members of the public who may have seen the crash — or either vehicle shortly beforehand — to come forward.

They are especially keen to hear from:

  • Witnesses who saw the vehicles in the moments leading up to the collision,
  • Residents or businesses with private CCTV overlooking Westbrook Avenue, and
  • Drivers with dashcam footage recorded around the time of the crash.
