Three Horsham Homes Shut Down Over Nuisance Behaviour
Three properties in Horsham have been hit with Partial Closure Orders after repeated anti-social and disruptive activity. The orders, slapped on two homes in Duke Square and one in Longfield Road, come straight from Brighton Magistrates’ Court.
Crackdown on Crime and Disorder
The closures, approved on 22 July under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act, make it a criminal offence to occupy these addresses. The move aims to shield local residents and businesses from ongoing chaos caused by unruly occupants.
Police Send Clear Message
“The three Partial Closure Orders in Horsham town centre send a strong message that antisocial behaviour and drug-related activities will not be tolerated,” said Sergeant Broome of Horsham Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT). “This outcome was achieved thanks to the determined efforts of Horsham’s NPT who worked closely with our partners and the local community to gather evidence and take decisive action to protect residents and businesses.”
Orders to Last Three Months
The court found the occupants involved, or likely to be involved, in disorderly and criminal conduct causing serious public nuisance. The closure orders will remain in place for three months, expiring in October unless extended further.
