Two Men Jailed for Running ‘Jo Jo Hove’ Drug Empire
Massive Drug Bust in Hove
Two criminals behind a notorious drug supply ring in Hove have been locked up. Anas Elorby, 25, from Croydon, and 26-year-old Moteeb Ahmad, with no fixed address, were sentenced at Lewes Crown Court on 11 September after admitting multiple drug supply charges. Both lads had previous convictions for class A drug offences from 2022.
The police probe started in May when a 20-year-old was stopped in Brighton carrying class A drugs and a blade. This arrest triggered a search at a Down Terrace property, where officers found phones – including one with ‘Jo Jo Hove’ drug price lists. Detectives quickly tracked Elorby as the kingpin.
£6,000 Worth of Drugs Seized
The sting reached its peak on 7 August at a Brunswick Terrace flat in Hove. Police uncovered a stash of drugs valued at over £6,000. The haul included cocaine, MDMA, meth, ketamine, and cannabis. They also grabbed multiple phones and £1,200 in cash.
Heavy Sentences for Kingpin and Sidekick
Both Elorby and Ahmad were arrested on the spot and charged. Elorby faced multiple counts for class A drug supply and possession of criminal property. Ahmad faced similar charges. The court sentenced Elorby to four and a half years in prison. Ahmad was handed four years and three months.
Police Vow More Crackdowns
“I am pleased that the sentencing reflects the seriousness of these repeated offences,” said PC Emily Begley. “We’re committed to disrupting drug supply in Brighton and Sussex. Our priority is catching criminals and keeping communities safe.”
