Murder Investigation in Clapham

Metropolitan detectives have launched a murder investigation following a double shooting in england/clapham/”>Clapham, which resulted in the death of one man.

Incident Details

On Monday, 8 September, at 20:50hrs, police responded to reports of a shooting on wales/new-park/”>park/”>New Park Road. Officers arrived alongside the London Ambulance Service, treating two men, aged 20 and 27, for gunshot wounds before transporting them to the hospital.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the 27-year-old succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Tuesday, 9 September. His family has been notified and is receiving support from specialist officers. The 20-year-old’s injuries are not considered life-threatening or life-changing, and he remains in the hospital.

Ongoing Investigation

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee, leading the investigation, stated: “My team are working at pace to establish the full circumstances that led to this man’s tragic death. Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends at this very difficult time.”

A crime scene remains in place, and residents can expect increased patrols in the local area as enquiries continue. Police urge anyone in or around New Park Road to check doorbell or camera footage and share any useful information.
