Man Charged with Murder After Teen Shot Dead in Wembley
A 32-year-old man has been charged with the murder of 18-year-old Tyrece Balcha in North West London. Adem Altindal, from Wood Green, Haringey, was charged on Thursday, 25 September, following his arrest the day before. He is set to appear at Haringey Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 26 September.
Tyrece, who lived in Hillingdon, was found with a gunshot wound outside a bar on Atlantic Crescent early Sunday, 21 September. Despite emergency treatment, he tragically died on Thursday.
“We are devastated that our amazing son, brother, and grandchild who is kind, loving, funny, and hardworking has been senselessly taken from us,” said the family. “Through his selfless gift as a donor, his spirit will live on. He will be deeply missed.”
More Arrests as Police Crack Down on Murder Probe
Police have made multiple arrests in connection with the shooting. A 39-year-old man remains in custody on suspicion of murder and firearm offences. Two others face charges of attempted murder and await an Old Bailey hearing in October.
Seven more suspects have been arrested over assisting offenders and firearm possession. Some have been granted bail, while others are still under investigation.
Wembley Police Boost Patrols and Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams acknowledged public fear over the shooting, saying, “We recognise the concern this incident has caused, especially as it happened during a busy event.” Police have stepped up patrols across Wembley to reassure residents.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Clarke urged respect for Tyrece’s family’s privacy while the investigation continues.
