Chaos on Fleetwood Streets as Police Van Smashes into BMW
Drama unfolded in Fleetwood on Tuesday afternoon when a marked police van slammed head-on into a BMW 220D. The collision tore through the busy junction of Princes Way and Rossall Grange Lane, triggering an immediate emergency response.
Emergency Lights Flash as Injuries Mount

- The police van had its emergency lights flashing at the time.
- An elderly woman in her 80s, driving the BMW, suffered a chest injury and remains hospitalised.
- A female passenger, also elderly, was treated on scene and released.
- The police officer driving the van injured their arm and is now receiving hospital care.
- Two other officers in the van escaped without injuries.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has been informed, as standard procedure for incidents involving police vehicles. Lancashire Police have declined to comment further while the investigation continues.
