Basingstoke Drug Den Shut Down by Police After Anti-Social Chaos

A notorious drug den in Basingstoke has been shut for good after a police crackdown. The closure order, approved by Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday, July 6), targets a house on Worting Road following numerous complaints about disorder and criminal activity.

Police Tear Down Crime Hub

Hampshire Constabulary joined forces with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to tackle the trouble hotspot. The property had become a magnet for drug offences and anti-social behaviour, severely disrupting local residents.

The court order, lasting three months, makes it a criminal offence to enter the property without police permission. It’s a strong move to stamp out crime and protect the community.

Sergeant Issues Warning to Troublemakers

“This action has been taken following increasing reports of criminal behaviour associated with the address in recent months,” said Sergeant Trevor Taylor of Basingstoke Neighbourhood Policing Team.

“The activities of occupants at this property have had a huge impact on those living nearby and beyond.”

“This order sends out a strong message: we will not tolerate this kind of behaviour and will use every power to stop it.”

Public Urged to Help Police Bust Crime

Sergeant Taylor added that the community’s help remains crucial.

“The information we receive from the public is vital in making our community a safe place to live.”

“If you’re worried about drug-related crime or anti-social behaviour near you, contact your local Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101.”

“Or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to report anonymously.”
