Crash Closes Romsey Bypass Northbound
Pauncefoot Hill on the A27 Romsey Bypass is shut northbound after a serious smash today. A VW van smashed into a tree and left the road just after lunch.
Fire Crews Rush to Rescue
Two Hampshire fire crews from Romsey and Eastleigh raced to the scene. Firefighters used specialist gear to free a 54-year-old man trapped inside the van.
Man Injured but Conscious
The man’s injuries are currently unknown, but he was reported conscious and breathing when rescued. Paramedics took him straight to Southampton General Hospital.
Pauncefoot Hill remains closed as emergency services deal with the incident.
