Crash Chaos Closes Key Fareham Road
A major route linking Fareham and Gosport was shut down today after a nasty head-on smash.
Accident on Newgate Lane
The crash happened on Newgate Lane, near the Tanners Lane junction at the Fareham/Gosport border. Two cars collided head-on, sparking an emergency response.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Police and paramedics quickly arrived after reports of the collision. One driver was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. Thankfully, their injuries aren’t serious. One person suffered chest pains, while another has a bruised wrist.
Traffic Nightmare and Bus Disruptions
The crash caused huge delays, with traffic backing up to Market Quay Roundabout as drivers scrambled for alternate routes.
- Bus services 21 and 21A were forced to divert via Redlands Lane, St Michaels Grove, 1 Ave, and Peak Lane into Stubbington.
Update: Road Reopens
The vehicles have now been cleared, and Newgate Lane has reopened. Expect normal traffic flow to resume shortly.
