Head on Collision Closes Major Fareham Road

A major Road linking Fareham and Gosport has been closed by Police this afternoon following a head on collision The collision is understood to have happened on Newgate Lane near to the junction of Tanners Lane Fareham/Gosport border. Police and Paramedics have been called to the incident following reports that two car had crashed. One of the drivers has treated by Paramedics and taken to hospital it is not thought that their injuries are serious. One person is thought to be suffering from chest pains and second with a bruised wrist. The incident is expected to cause delays with reports that traffic is queuing back to Market Quay Roundabout in Fareham as drivers seek alternative routes. Local Busses have also been affected: Services 21/21A diverting via Redlands Lane, St Michaels Grove, Longfield Ave and Peak Lane into Stubbington. UPDATE: The vehicles have been recovered and the road has been reopened
