Police were scrambled at 9:15am on Thursday, 23 May, after suspected World War Two ordnance was found on a building site in Fassett Road, Kingston. Specialist officers quickly descended to assess the dangerous find.
Major Road Closures and Evacuations in Place
A strict 24-hour lockdown was imposed, with police securing the area and cordons blocking Penryhn Road, Beaufort Road, Beaufort Place, Fassett Road, Grove Lane, Grove Crescent, Bloomfield Road, and Linkford Avenue. Authorities say these road closures will last until at least 4pm on Friday, 24 May.
