Man, 40, Stabbed to Death in Broad Daylight in Battersea
Detectives have named the victim of a brutal stabbing in Battersea as 40-year-old Tesfa Campbell from Croydon. He was found with stab wounds on Latchmere Road at around 2.45pm on Wednesday, 3 July, and died in hospital at 7.40pm.
Brutal Daytime Attack Outside Latchmere Leisure Centre
Met Police’s Homicide and Major Crime Command are leading the investigation. Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding revealed Tesfa was walking down Burns Road with another man when he was suddenly stabbed as they neared Latchmere Road. The attacker then fled on foot.
“At this stage we believe the victim was walking with another man when he was stabbed by that man, who then fled the scene. We’re appealing to anyone in the area, especially near Latchmere Leisure Centre, to come forward with any information or dashcam footage,” said DCI Harding.
No arrests have been made yet. Tesfa’s family have been informed and a post-mortem will be carried out.
Police Urge Witnesses to Help Bring Killer to Justice
Chief Superintendent Sally Benatar expressed condolences to Tesfa’s family and promised a thorough investigation. She urged the Battersea community to speak up.
“My thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died following this tragic incident. We will leave no stone unturned in finding whoever is responsible. Local officers are here to listen and support anyone with information,” said Chief Superintendent Benatar.
