Human Trafficking Gang Busted in London Raid
Six Arrested Over Slavery and Prostitution Rings
Six suspected criminals have been hit with multi-count charges linked to a massive human trafficking and exploitation probe across London. The accused include Jie Zhang, 40, from Hammersmith; Qitao Xu, 31, from Hillingdon; Yuhua Zheng, 68; Giulia Manzo, 30; Wenjing Nong, 32; and Zeev Zi-Pear, 62, from Barnet.
Serious Charges Laid
- Jie Zhang and Qitao Xu each face 13 charges including possession of criminal property, conspiracy to hold people in slavery, controlling prostitution for gain, and arranging travel for exploitation in the UK.
- Yuhua Zheng has 11 charges, while Giulia Manzo faces eight offences involving similar serious allegations.
- Wenjing Nong is charged with seven counts, and Zeev Zi-Pear faces 10 charges including conspiracy and assisting crimes related to human trafficking and exploitation.
Operation Huai Strikes Back
The charges come after a crackdown on April 22, 2020, when detectives executed seven raids across London under Operation Huai. The suspects were charged by postal requisition on Tuesday, April 6, and are set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, May 10.
