Teen Stabbed to Death in SW2 Horror
Police swooped on Hicken Road, SW2, at 7.38pm on Monday 4 April after reports of a stabbing. They found 16-year-old Rommel McKoy critically injured.
Despite emergency treatment, Rommel later died in hospital. Official records state his date of death as 20 April 2022.
Family Devastated as Murder Probe Launched
Rommel’s distraught family is being supported by specially trained officers. The Met has now launched a full murder investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Sal Minhas, Specialist Crime Command, said: “A 16-year-old boy has lost his life. His family deserves answers. We are committed to bringing those responsible to justice. If you haven’t spoken to police yet, please come forward — your information could be the key.”
Arrests Made, But Questions Remain
Police arrested a 16-year-old on Friday 15 April and a 17-year-old on 20 April. Both suspects have been released on bail until mid-May.
Detective Superintendent Neerav Patel, Met’s Central South BCU, said: “While we’re making strides against violence in London, this senseless killing is a stark reminder of the work still needed. Extra officers have been patrolling the area. Our hearts go out to Rommel’s family, especially his grieving mother. We’ll support them for as long as necessary.”
