John Lydon Drops F-Bomb Live on ITV’s This Morning
Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon shocked viewers this morning by hurling a swear word live on ITV’s This Morning. Known for his no-holds-barred attitude, Lydon wasn’t holding back during a chat with hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary about the new Sex Pistols biopic, Pistol.
Lydon Slams Biopic, Swears on Air
The 66-year-old rocker appeared visibly frustrated discussing the show, which he reportedly despises. When challenged about the series, Lydon suddenly snapped, calling someone an “ar**hole” right there on live TV. Alison and Dermot were left stunned and quickly apologised to viewers.
“Sorry about that,” Alison said. Dermot sighed, adding: “Apologies for the language.”
Twitter Backs ‘Restraint’ from Punk Legend
Fans on Twitter weren’t fazed by Lydon’s slip. One user @Josneat said: “Johnny was always going to swear! I believe he’s been quite restrained.” Another, @Bluebazza58, wrote: “Felt very edgy watching John Lydon on This Morning. Waiting for the inevitable swear words – only got ‘a**hole’. He’s a one-of-a-kind.”
Lydon’s Beef with ‘Pistol’ Biopic
Lydon’s dislike for the series has been well documented. He slammed the show as “too sleazy,” criticising its focus on sex and drug exploits, drawn from former guitarist Steve Jones’ memoir. “It’s upsetting because a lot of it has sexual connotations that are dubious at best,” he told The Mirror.
He fired further blasts, accusing the producers of cutting him out. “Cutting me out is a shockingly stupid move,” Lydon fumed. “They can all go f*** themselves. Without me, none of these f***s would have a job.”
Director Danny Boyle Hits Back
Director Danny Boyle responded, saying: “John complains we didn’t approach him. We did approach him, and I’d have loved to have him involved.”
The full-throttle feud shows the Sex Pistols’ legacy still packs a punk punch – swear words and all.
