Thief Targets Elderly Woman with Hedge-Cutting Ruse in Poole
On the morning of August 6, a brazen thief tricked his way into the home of a vulnerable elderly woman on Rempstone Road, Poole. Around 11.30 a.m., the man knocked asking if she wanted her hedges cut. She said no, but he still managed to get inside.
Thief Steals £180 After Intimidating Victim
The terrified woman tried to show she had nothing by opening her purse, but the man snatched £180 before making off. He didn’t do any cutting – just a quick grab and dash.
“This incident involved the targeting of a vulnerable elderly victim,” said Poole police Constable Sophia Winborn. “We are carrying out a number of enquiries to try and identify the man responsible.”
Police Appeal for Help – Van Spotted Nearby
Officers released photos of the suspect and are appealing to the public for information. A small silver van with orange writing was seen close to the scene at the time. Police urge anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
