Eight drivers slapped with hefty fines and bans at Bexleyheath Magistrates’ Court
Eight motorists caught speeding, drink-driving, using phones behind the wheel, and drug possession have faced the music at Bexleyheath Magistrates’ Court this May. The combined penalties top £3,000 in fines, costs, and surcharges – plus driving bans, licence points, and vehicle forfeitures.
Speeders and Phone Users Caught Across South London and Kent
- Shariff Mohammed, 53, from 123, fined a whopping £1,070 and slapped with six points after caught using a handheld phone while driving a BMW on Redcar Street in June 2024.
- Joseph Famurewa, 56, West Kensington, caught drink-driving with 59mcg alcohol per 100ml breath on May 3, 2025, in Woolwich town centre. He was fined £701 and banned from driving for 15 months, with possible reduction if he completes a rehab course.
Drug Offence Sees Tough Penalty
- Ben Wilders, 26, from Bexleyheath, fined £365 for possession of cocaine and cannabis found in Crayford on May 19, 2025. The drugs were ordered destroyed.
