Party Crashers Slammed as Police Break Up Illegal House Rave in Manchester
Police swooped on a house party on Manchester Road just after 3.15am this morning (7 November). The illegal gathering blatantly flouted current Government lockdown rules banning such events.
Guests Flee but Officers Give Chase
When officers arrived, several partygoers tried to make a run for it. But police chased down and stopped them, handing out Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) to two offenders on the spot.
Warning Issued Amid Second National Lockdown
Superintendent Ben Mant issued a stern warning:
“The current Government restrictions are in place to save lives – it is that simple. Organising or attending a house party is a flagrant breach of the restrictions and could put people’s lives at risk.
“We are now in the second national lockdown and not knowing the rules is not an excuse.
“I would urge anyone else considering breaching the rules to take this incident as a warning – we will not tolerate clear or persistent breaches to the rules.”
Know the Rules or Face the Consequences
The police are reviewing the incident to decide if further action is needed. For the full list of lockdown restrictions, visit www.gov.uk/coronavirus.
