Teen Thug Kicks Cop Off His Feet in Bexhill E-Scooter Chaos!
George Vakis Causes Mayhem on London Road
At 6.30pm on August 3, 19-year-old George Vakis was spotted riding up and down London Road, Bexhill, as police dealt with another incident nearby. An officer quickly recognised the troublemaker and told him to stop.
Violent Attack on Officer
Rather than comply, Vakis kicked the officer, knocking him off balance and sending him crashing to the pavement. The cop sustained a nasty hand wound in the scuffle. Vakis then sped off on his e-scooter, but officers, recognising him from past stop checks, soon nabbed him.
Failed Denial and Court Victory for Police
During questioning, Vakis ludicrously claimed mistaken identity, despite clear police footage from a patrol car and bodycams. The video showed him sporting distinctive Nike trainers — the very same he wore at arrest.
At Lewes Crown Court on November 19, Vakis, of Thakeham Close, Bexhill, copped to wounding the officer without intent. He was slapped with a one-year sentence at a youth offenders’ institution.
Additional Charges and Police Warning
- Driving without a licence (on the e-scooter)
- Driving without insurance
- Failing to stop when directed by police
His driving licence was hit with six penalty points.
Police recently reminded riders that e-scooters remain illegal on UK roads and pavements. Offenders risk arrest, prosecution, and seizure of their electric scooters across Sussex.
