Major redevelopment approved
The Lewes Planning Applications Committee has given the green light to transform Newhaven Marina. The sprawling project will see old structures bulldozed to make way for a brand-new waterfront hub.
What’s in store?
- 259 sleek residential apartments
- 141 retirement living apartments with parking
- Up to 3,500m² of commercial space, including a restaurant, marina retail shops, workshops, offices, and marina facilities like clubrooms and changing rooms
- A 50-bed apart-hotel with a gym
- New boat berths and a scenic riverside walkway
Phased development plan
The project will roll out in six phases. Each phase starts with demolishing existing buildings in that section. Meanwhile, the marina’s pontoons will be redesigned to fit the new construction phases.
