Brothers Jailed for Smuggling Loaded Guns in Microwave from US to London
Edward Pink, 46, from Lambeth, and his brother Cadien Pink, 41, of Surrey, have been locked up after trying to smuggle loaded firearms from Florida to London. The Croydon Crown Court found them guilty of conspiracy to possess firearms and ammunition with intent to endanger life.
Shocking Stash Discovered in Microwave Parcel
On June 28, 2022, US authorities intercepted a suspicious package bound for a Newham business address. Inside a microwave were four loaded pistols – two Glock 19 Gen 5s, one Glock 17 Gen 5, and a Taurus G2C – plus 59 rounds of ammo. All had their serial numbers filed off.
The firearms were seized and the US alerted the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command. A joint investigation quickly led to the arrests of the Pink brothers on July 12.
Denied But Caught on Tape: Cadien’s Hair Clipper Excuse Falls Flat
Cadien Pink denied involvement, claiming the order was for hair clippers for his mobile barber business. However, a recorded voice note revealed an American contact instructing him on gun details. The flimsy alibi didn’t fool the court.
Met Police and Homeland Security Praise International Teamwork
“The Met has fantastic working relationships worldwide. We stopped lethal weapons reaching London streets and brought these criminals to justice,” said Detective Chief Inspector Ant Jones.
HSI London Attaché Tim Hemker added: “This sentencing shows how international collaboration saves lives and fights organised crime. We will keep hunting those who import weapons to harm our communities.”
The brothers were sentenced on February 20 to 12 and 14 years behind bars, respectively, with terms running concurrently. London’s streets are safer thanks to swift global police action.
