The drama unfolded at a misconduct hearing on March 20 at chelmsford/" title="Chelmsford" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Chelmsford Civic Centre. Led by Independent Chair Andrew Hearn, the panel confirmed the allegations against Burnell were true.
Burnell was booted out without notice.
Deputy Chief Constable Slams Dishonesty
“Honesty and integrity is crucial for building and maintaining the trust and confidence of the public,” said Deputy Chief Constable Andy Prophet.
“PC Burnell knowingly included false information in his application, then lied about his intention to do so.
“We demand the highest standards of behaviour from all officers and staff, and the actions of PC Burnell have fallen well below these.”
