Train Derails in Netherlands After Collision, Several Seriously Injured
A passenger train has derailed in the Netherlands, leaving multiple people injured and sparking a fire at the crash site.
Crash in Voorschoten Sparks Emergency Response
The derailment happened in Voorschoten, a village between The Hague and Amsterdam. Dutch emergency crews rushed to the scene where a fire broke out after the front carriage ploughed into a field. Around 50 passengers were on board at the time.
Collision with Construction Equipment Triggers Chaos
Authorities say the train collided with construction equipment—or according to initial reports, possibly a goods train—on the track. Several passengers suffered serious injuries in the smash.
Rail Disruption as Investigations Underway
Dutch Railways NS immediately suspended all train services to and from Leiden following the accident. Emergency teams continue to manage the scene, while investigations work to determine the exact cause of the crash.
