Tragedy struck Heanor on June 18, 2022, when ambulance crews rushed to Thorpes Road near the park after reports that Mikey Harrison was severely injured. Sadly, Mikey died later that day.
Father Charged with Murder of Son
Mikey’s father, Michael Harrison, from Eaton Terrace, Nottingham, was charged with his murder in July 2022. He had earlier admitted to manslaughter but denied murder.
Damning Court Confession
At Derby Crown Court, the 41-year-old shocked the courtroom by admitting to murdering his son Mikey.
Sentencing will be decided at a later date.
