A manhunt is underway after a driver refused to stop for police and crashed into four vehicles during a daring chase in the Forest of Dean.
Police Pursuit Sparks Chaos on A48
At around 12:20pm on Thursday 16 October, officers tried to pull over a blue Volkswagen Scirocco on the A48 in Alvington. The car was suspected to be involved in drug dealing, and intelligence suggested the driver had no valid licence.
Ignoring police commands, the driver sped off, smashing into four other vehicles — damaging bodywork and wing mirrors. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Driver Flees on Foot After Crash in Sedbury
The chase ended when the Scirocco crashed in nearby Sedbury. The driver abandoned the car and ran off into the woods. Despite a large search involving the National Police Air Service, Dog Unit, and Gwent Police, the man remains on the loose.
Drugs Found in Abandoned Volkswagen
Police later searched the abandoned car and found a stash of Class B drugs, scales, and drug paraphernalia. All items were seized, and the vehicle was sent for forensic tests.
