Police are hunting witnesses after an 82-year-old man was attacked in a shocking road rage incident in Lodsworth, near Petworth.
Black Ford Fiesta Driver Strikes in Wet Conditions
The drama unfolded at 5.40pm on 20 October in The Street, close to the Gills Lane junction. Authorities say the victim was confronted and assaulted by the driver of a black Ford Fiesta during wet, slippery conditions.
The terrified pensioner was left shaken but thankfully didn’t need hospital treatment.
Tall, Shirted Suspect Flees Scene
Police describe the suspect as a tall man in his 30s, dressed in a shirt and trousers. After the assault, he sped off southbound down The Street.
Witnesses Urgently Needed
Officers are now probing the incident and want anyone who saw the attack to get in touch. They’re especially keen to identify a Good Samaritan who stopped to check on the victim and might have witnessed the whole ordeal.
