OAP Dies After Crash on Busy Maidstone Street
An elderly man in his 80s has died following a shocking collision on a bustling Maidstone road. Police are urgently hunting for witnesses, CCTV, and dashcam footage to crack the case.
The Deadly Smash
The fatal crash happened just after 1pm on Friday 21 November 2025. A silver Volkswagen Passat was heading along the A229 Royal Engineers Road towards Maidstone when it struck the pensioner on his blue mobility scooter near the pedestrian crossing by Maidstone Library.
Emergency crews rushed the man to hospital, but he sadly died the next day. His grieving family have been informed.
Driver Arrested and Released on Bail
The 40-something driver was arrested at the scene but later released on bail as detectives continue their probe. Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is leading the inquiry.
