Lewisham on High Alert: Police to Evict Troublemakers for 48 Hours

From 4pm today (November 27) until 3.59pm Saturday (November 29), Lewisham is under tight police watch. Cops are cracking down hard on crime hotspots.

What’s Section 35? The Police’s New Weapon

Section 35 lets uniformed officers and community support officers kick out troublemakers from a set zone for up to 48 hours. But it’s not a free-for-all—only a police inspector can sign off on it.

Where’s the Hotspot?

The clampdown covers a swathe of Lewisham, including Thomas Lane, Holbeach Road, Catford Broadway, parts of Rushey Green, Brownhill Road, Sangley Road, and Plassy Road.

Why the Tough Stance?

“A section 35 has been issued by Inspector Jackson in the Rushey Green area. This is due to violence and drug use in the area,” said Lewisham MPS.

Locals and visitors should gear up for a heavy police presence as authorities crack down to restore order and stamp out crime.
