Police scrambled to Whalebone Lane South in Chadwell Heath at 7.15pm on Friday after a gunshot was reported.
Woman in 50s Injured by Air Rifle Shot
Officers discovered a woman in her 50s with injuries consistent with an air rifle wound. She was rushed to hospital, where doctors confirmed her injuries are serious but not life-threatening or permanent.
Two Men Arrested Over Shooting
The Met Police arrested two men, aged 29 and 18, at a nearby address. Both face charges of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. They remain in police custody.

“Police were called to a report of a firearm discharge on Whalebone Lane South, Chadwell Heath at 19:14hrs on Friday, 2 January,” said a Met Police spokesperson. “Officers attended and a woman, aged in her 50s, was found with an injury consistent with an air rifle.”
