The trial heard both teenagers had been drinking to excess throughout the day, and the 16-year-old defendant “swore on his dead granddad’s grave he would stab and murder”.
Prosecutor Owen Edwards KC said the incident began when the 16-year-old looked out of the window of a property in Barry Road and saw Mr Aman getting into his Volkswagen Passat, and briefly looked at him.

The barrister added: “It was this simple trigger that seemed to set (the 16-year-old) off like a firework.”
The defendant shouted “What you looking at bro?” and began punching his own head. The 16-year-old said he was “going to beat people up” and the 17-year-old responded: “Come on bro, let’s go, I’ll back you”.
The 16-year-old tried to pick up a hammer from a bedroom but was prevented from doing so by a woman at the property.

The 16-year-old then ran straight to Mr Aman’s car and tried opening the locked passenger door.
Mr Edwards said: “Kamran had done nothing to invite trouble. Kamran did not know (the defendants).
“Kamran was and always remained entirely unaware of why (the 16-year-old) backed up by his friend decided to focus his violent rage upon him.

“Kamran was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and the reality you may think is that anybody who stood in the way of (the 16-year-old) that night faced mortal peril.
“The extent of the aggression shown by (the 16-year-old) was obvious to all who witnessed it including (the 17-year-old) who nevertheless decided to back him up.”
Upon getting out of his car, Mr Aman was confronted by the 16-year-old and punched in the face. The two exchanged blows.

The 17-year-old took the opportunity to return to the house in Barry Road and retrieved a kitchen knife before returning to the scene.
Neighbours were alerted to the incident in the street and made attempts to intervene, as Mr Aman was pushed into a neighbouring property with the defendants in pursuit.
Mr Edwards said: “As (the 16-year-old) punched him, (the 17-year-old) repeatedly tried to stab him.

“He succeeded with a single blow which penetrated his heart.
“The two young men left Kamran to bleed to death on the pavement while concerned neighbours did all they could to assist Kamran.
“(The 17-year-old) and (16-year-old) appeared proud of their actions. (The 16-year-old) would say repeatedly ‘n*****’, clearly aimed at Kamran who lay fatally wounded on that pavement.”

Attempts were made to save Mr Aman, and he underwent an emergency clamshell thoracotomy. A doctor even managed to stitch Mr Aman’s heart to seal the puncture wound.
The heart was briefly resuscitated, but this could not prevent Mr Aman’s “inevitable death” which was reported at 1.07am.
Both defendants fled the scene and were later arrested in Court Road.

Footage played to the court showed the two defendants in police custody.
The topless 16-year-old can be seen screaming and shouting loudly while levelling abuse at officers who are taking him to his cell.
The 17-year-old is seen looking from his cell and can be heard to say: “That’s my boy”.

Upon being placed in his cell, the 16-year-old can be seen spitting at the cell window and continues to shout and scream.
In prepared statements, both teenagers denied responsibility for causing Mr Aman’s murder. Neither gave evidence at trial and both were found guilty of murder by the jury.
Mr Justice Griffiths thanked the members of the jury for their service.
