George Balkwill’s night took a frightening turn in Old Marston, Oxford, on Saturday (14 February). Riding his e-scooter, George smashed into a massive pothole masked by rainwater. The impact threw him off the scooter, leaving him with injuries to his face, chest, and legs.

He was rushed to hospital but is now recovering safely at home.

Pothole Was Already Known, Repair Scheduled

Oxford City Council revealed the notorious pothole had been inspected on 3 February and was already set for repair on 17 February. The council confirmed the fix falls within their standard 14-day repair window.
