Coastguard Spots Abandoned Dinghy

Police swooped after the Coastguard spotted an unmanned dinghy drifting in Firestone Bay, Plymouth, just before 10am on Monday, 23 February. The small boat was floating with personal belongings onboard — but no sign of the owner.

Police Confirm No Danger to Anyone

Following a media appeal, Devon & Cornwall Police have tracked down the dinghy’s owner. A spokesperson said, “We are satisfied that no one entered the water or got into difficulty.” Mystery solved, no one was in danger.
