The US military has confirmed the death of three American service members amid ongoing combat operations against Iran, marking the first US casualties since strikes began alongside Israel.

Casualties and Injuries Reported

  • Three US service members killed, five seriously wounded, official reports confirm.
  • Several others suffered minor shrapnel injuries and concussions but are returning to duty.
  • Details on the locations or circumstances of the casualties remain undisclosed.

US Central Command (CENTCOM), overseeing Middle East operations, announced the losses on Sunday but withheld details “out of respect for the families.”

“The situation is fluid, so out of respect for the families, we will withhold additional information, including the identities of our fallen warriors, until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified,” CENTCOM said.

Trump Warned of Potential Losses

In a national address on Saturday, former President Donald Trump acknowledged possible US casualties in the conflict with Iran.

“The lives of courageous American heroes may be lost, and we may have casualties. That often happens in war,” Trump said. “But we’re doing this — not for now — we’re doing this for the future, and it is a noble mission.”

Escalating Regional Conflict

Since the strikes began, dozens have died or been injured in Iranian missile attacks on Israel and the UAE. US and Israeli counterstrikes have also killed hundreds in Iran.

The Israeli military claims to have killed 40 senior Iranian commanders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

American forces on land, air, and sea have aggressively targeted Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) command centres, air defences, missile and drone launch sites, and airfields.

Meanwhile, US forces conduct air defence operations to protect assets and allies across the Middle East from Iran’s missile and drone reprisals. Iranian missiles have struck US bases in Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE, as well as other nations, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Iraq.

The conflict is intensifying, with no sign of de-escalation in the near future.
