Police Appeal and Investigation Underway

Detective Sergeant Millie Gillett said: “Our thoughts are with this man’s family who have been updated and offered support. While our investigation into what happened continues, we don’t believe his death to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

“Underwater search teams have worked hard to locate the car and any possible occupants since the investigation began. However, these efforts have been hampered by high river levels and heavy rainfall.

“Detectives are also trying to establish what led to the vehicle entering the water. I would ask that people do not speculate on what has happened.”
