Vitor Soares de Oliveira, 24, locked up for over seven years for sexually abusing a teenage girl he groomed online.

Predator Lured Victim with Drugs and Alcohol

A Brazilian man living in Surrey has been slammed with a 7-year, 6-month sentence after admitting to grooming and abusing a 14-year-old girl online. Vitor Soares de Oliveira initially denied the charges but changed his plea on day two of his trial at Swindon Crown Court in January.

He pleaded guilty to five counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of creating indecent Category A images of a child. Despite trying to hide his real age, the victim believed he was 19 at the time.

The court learned he fed the girl drugs, alcohol, vapes, and food to keep control of the abuse. His crimes came to light when the victim bravely confided in a friend in June 2025. Police intervened after fears she was missing and seen with Soares de Oliveira.

Judge Hands Down Tough Sentence

On Friday, 20th March, the court ordered Soares de Oliveira to serve a lengthy jail term. He must also register as a sex offender for life, comply with a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years, and pay a victim surcharge of £228.

Detective Praises Victim’s Courage

“This has been a long and traumatic ordeal for the survivor, who has shown incredible strength and resilience throughout,” said T/Detective Constable Samantha Martin.

“Soares de Oliveira was a predatory offender targeting a child, fully aware she was only 14, travelling from Surrey to Wiltshire to abuse her.”

“The victim’s courageous statement and witness testimonies made the case rock solid, leading to his guilty plea. While we can’t undo the harm, I hope this sentence offers some closure.”

“Our Missing & Exploitation Unit is committed to supporting victims and bringing offenders to justice.”
