Jamie Blyth Nabbed with Heavy Haul of Heroin and Weapons
Jamie Blyth, 39, from Falkland Crescent, Aberdeen, has been locked up for six years after a police stop uncovered a dangerous arsenal of Class A drugs and weapons in his car.
The dramatic arrest occurred on 19 February 2026, when Cumbria Police pulled over Blyth’s vehicle near Penrith at 5:20pm. Blyth, driving alone, claimed he was on a simple trip from Dundee to Wigan to check out a puppy. But cops weren’t convinced and decided to search the car.
Heroin Blocks, Knife, and Baseball Bats Found in Shocking Haul
Blyth admitted there was “just drugs” behind the passenger seat. Police soon uncovered a stash that confirms it was anything but “just” drugs:
- Two 1kg blocks of Class A heroin
- Two 0.5kg blocks of heroin
- A knife hidden in Blyth’s coat pocket
- Two baseball bats stashed in the boot
He was charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, two counts of possession of an offensive weapon, and one count of carrying a bladed article in public.
Operation Alliance Scores Big Against Crime
The case was handled under Operation Alliance, Cumbria Police’s crackdown targeting serious organised crime.
“This was a great proactive stop by our Roads Policing officers which has undoubtedly led to harmful drugs being removed from the streets,” said a spokesperson from the Community and Serious Organised Crime (CSOC) team.
“We welcome the prison sentence handed to Blyth on Friday – it shows how seriously we, and the courts, take this type of offending. Drug dealing is not a victimless crime, and we will continue to target those who distribute them and fuel violence, exploitation and addiction.”
