A drug dealer made a mad dash from cops wearing nothing but his boxer shorts – while his associate flooded a bathroom trying to flush away £10,000 worth of drugs.
Andre McGowan’s Naked Escape Ends in Arrest
In February 2023, Andre McGowan climbed out of a first-floor window on Belconnen Road, Bestwood, stark naked except for his underpants. Barefoot and desperate to escape, he was spotted by police and caught moments later along a nearby footpath.
Today (March 30), Nottingham Crown Court slammed McGowan with a 12-year prison sentence for supplying Class A drugs, namely crack cocaine and heroin.
Associate Causes Flood Trying to Ditch £10k of Heroin
On the same raid, officers swooped on Shabezz Wheeler-Spink’s flat on Norton Street, Radford. Desperate to destroy evidence as cops kicked in the door, Wheeler-Spink frantically tried to flush two plastic bags containing 104g of heroin down his partner’s upstairs toilet.
The bags wouldn’t budge – causing the toilet to flood the bathroom, exposing his dodgy dealings.
Six Years Running the Game vs Six Months on the Sidelines
- McGowan had been running the drug operation for six years.
- Wheeler-Spink was involved for just six months.
Wheeler-Spink, from Fenton Road, Basford, Nottingham, was jailed for three years, reflecting his lesser role in the drug ring.
