police/">Thames Valley Police are hunting a culprit after a 5G telecom mast was deliberately set on fire in Milton Keynes. The blaze broke out on Tuesday evening, causing chaos in the Oldbrook area.

Fire Erupts at Saxon Street and Dexter Avenue

Between 8:15pm and 9:00pm on 31st March 2026, a fire was started on a 5G mast located at the busy junction of Saxon Street and Dexter Avenue. Emergency services rushed to the scene, evacuating nearby homes as a precaution. The fire brigade quickly doused the flames, thankfully avoiding any injuries. Residents have now been allowed to return to their properties.

Police Release Description of Suspect

The arsonist is described as a slim man sporting a light-coloured baseball cap, black tracksuit top with white stripes along the arms, and light-coloured trousers. Detective Constable Jordan Wallace said: “We believe this fire was started deliberately and are treating it as arson. We urge anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dash-cam, CCTV or doorbell footage to come forward.” Witnesses can report info via the Thames Valley Police website or ring 101 quoting crime reference 43260157608.
