Suffolk Constabulary has launched a probe after a woman was reportedly attacked by a stranger on a Lowestoft beach late on Wednesday, April 8. The shocking incident took place near East Point Pavilion off Marine Parade around 11pm — the warmest evening of the year so far.
Woman Approached and Assaulted on Seafront
The victim, a woman in her twenties, told detectives a man cycling along the seafront stopped her while she walked on the sand. The man suggested an embrace before allegedly groping her over her clothes, targeting her breasts and bottom. He then tried to kiss her during the confrontation. After the attack, the man rode off on his bike, leaving police scrambling to track him down.
Police Describe Suspect, Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Officers describe the suspect as a slim white male, about 5ft 8in tall. He wore denim jeans, a jacket, and a beige baseball cap at the time. Police are appealing for anyone who was near the beachfront or saw a man matching this description cycling late at night to come forward.
