‘The General’ Nabbed After Dramatic Hideaway

Joland Giwa, nicknamed “The General,” was caught red-handed after a frantic police chase ended with him diving into a cupboard to avoid arrest. The 36-year-old was followed by officers, supported by NPAS, to an address in Risca back in February. When police tried to speak to him over an unrelated matter, Giwa bolted inside the property and hid upstairs — but it was no use.

Massive Drug Haul and Cash Found

At Cardiff Crown Court on April 10, Giwa pleaded guilty to multiple serious charges: possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, heroin, and cocaine, plus possession of criminal property. Police later uncovered nearly £16,000 worth of class A drugs and over £2,000 in cash. His phone revealed a string of drug-related messages and texts openly advertising sales.

Police Crack Down on Community Drug Chaos

“Joland Giwa had no option but to plead guilty,” said DC Bradley. “We know the devastation that drug dealing causes in our communities. Those involved show no regard for the lives they ruin or the harm they inflict.” “This sentence sends a clear message — we are relentless in pursuing serious and organised crime and delivering justice.”

Giwa was sentenced to three years and 11 months behind bars. Police vow to keep cracking down on drug supply networks wrecking UK communities.
