A woman was found dead on Broadmoss Drive, Blackley, sparking a murder investigation. Greater Manchester Police arrived just before 6pm on Sunday 19 April 2026 after reports of a disturbance.
Man Held as Murder Suspect
Officers discovered the woman deceased at the scene. A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody for questioning. The victim’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers.
Investigation Ongoing, Police Reassure Public
A crime scene remains in place while detectives continue their probe.
“Our thoughts, first and foremost, remain with the victim’s family as they grieve their loved one,” said Detective Chief Inspector Anna Barker of the Major Incident Team. “We have a man in custody and detectives are working hard to establish the full circumstances behind this tragic death.” “We understand this may cause concern, but believe there is no wider risk to the public. You will see an increased police presence in the area. Please talk to officers and raise any concerns or information.”
