23-Year-Old Facing Serious Charges

West Midlands Police have charged 23-year-old Akobi Folarin with attempted murder following a shooting in Smethwick. Folarin is also accused of possessing a firearm with the intent to endanger life. He appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and has been remanded to appear at the city’s Crown Court on 18 May.

Victim Shot in the Leg

Police were called to Bearwood Road at around 1.30am on 11 March after a 19-year-old man was shot in the leg. The victim was hospitalised but has since been released. The 19-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of violent disorder but has been released on police bail.

Drugs and More Charges

A 20-year-old arrested alongside Folarin, suspected of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, has been released on bail. Meanwhile, another man, aged 21, was earlier charged with attempted murder and remains in custody.
