A Lancashire officer was brutally assaulted while on duty in Lancaster. George Jacob, 42, launched a terrifying brick attack after a routine stop on 22nd November 2023.
Routine Stop Turns Violent
It all started when the cop spotted Jacob and another man with an electric motorbike. After striking up a conversation, the officer seized the bike. Jacob exploded in violence, shouting and pushing the officer before fleeing.
Brick Smash Injury
The officer was back in his car, filling out paperwork, when Jacob returned, brick in hand. The attacker smashed the driver’s side window and struck the officer square in the face. The officer suffered a severe concussion, two chipped teeth, a facial laceration, plus glass fragments embedded in his face. He was rushed to the hospital but has since made a swift recovery and is back on the beat.
Jail for Violent Offender
Jacob, homeless and with no fixed address, was arrested and charged with wounding with intent, criminal damage, and assaulting an emergency worker. He pleaded guilty to Section 20 wounding, police assault, and criminal damage. Last week at Preston Crown Court, the 42-year-old was sentenced to 20 months behind bars for his savage attack.
