Former Londoner caught at Luton Airport flips plea
Aine Davis, 39, from Hammersmith, west London, has done a U-turn and pleaded guilty to terror offences. Known for his ties to the infamous Islamic State “Beatles” cell, Davis was arrested last August at Luton Airport as he was deported from Turkey.
Guilty to firearm possession and terror funding
Initially denying all allegations, Davis admitted today at the Old Bailey that he illegally possessed a firearm, breaking Section 57 of the Terrorism Act 2000. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of funding terrorism.
Belmarsh prison inmate faces November sentencing
Appearing via video-link dressed in a grey prison tracksuit, Davis was remanded in custody by Judge Mark Lucraft KC. The judge scheduled sentencing for November 13 at the Old Bailey.
