Around 80 firefighters and 12 fire engines are tackling a major fire at a terraced house in Beckenham tonight.
London Fire Brigade was called to Ravenscroft Road at 10.22pm following reports of a fire at a two-storey terraced property with a loft conversion.
Crews are working to extinguish flames in a void space between the first floor and the loft.
One of the Brigade’s 32-metre ladders has been deployed as firefighters continue operations at the property.
Smoke is being produced by the blaze and residents living nearby have been advised to keep their doors and windows closed where possible.
Firefighters from Woodside, Forest Hill, West Norwood and surrounding stations have been sent to the scene.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Emergency crews remain at the scene and further updates are expected as the incident develops.
