Tragic Teen Murder: Brianna, 16, Found Stabbed to Death in Culcheth Park
Police Launch Major Hunt After Horrific Attack
Emergency services were called to Linear Park in Culcheth at 3.13pm on Saturday, February 11, after the body of 16-year-old Brianna was discovered on a path. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A Home Office post-mortem is underway to determine the exact cause of death. Early reports confirm Brianna suffered multiple stab wounds in what police have described as a “truly awful attack.”
Key Witnesses Sought
Detective Chief Superintendent Mike Evans appealed to the public for help. He revealed police want to speak to two key witnesses spotted near the crime scene:
- A white man, late teens or early twenties, with dark curly hair, wearing a long dark hooded coat.
- A woman of similar age, also with dark curly hair, wearing a distinctive red or purple-black checked blanket-style coat and flowing skirt, dress, or trousers.
They were seen in the park around the time Brianna’s body was found.
Witnesses and CCTV Footage Crucial to Crack the Case
Police are urging anyone in the park between 1.30pm and 4pm on Saturday, or anyone who saw Brianna earlier that day, to come forward. Local residents and businesses are asked to check CCTV or dashcam footage that might help the investigation.
“We are working tirelessly to find those responsible for Brianna’s death,” said Det Chief Supt Evans. “Extra officers are supporting the inquiry, and we are backing Brianna’s family through this tragic time.”
