High-Speed Chase Ends in Crash and Arrest
Just before midnight, police spotted a car tearing the wrong way down Brown Street. The driver ignored stop signals, sparking a wild pursuit through the city centre and along the A30, A36, and then the A345 towards Amesbury.
Driver Loses Control, Flees Scene
The chase ended when the suspect lost control and smashed into another vehicle. The driver jumped out and ran, but a police dog tracked him down.
Man Arrested on Multiple Charges
The man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while unfit, drink driving, failing to stop for police, and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent. He has since been released under investigation as inquiries continue.
