Two Arrested Over Sky Streaming Scam

A 45-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were arrested on Friday, 5 May 2023, suspected of money laundering and conspiracy to defraud Sky.

Devices Seized for Forensic Examination

Police confiscated several digital devices from the suspects’ address. These will now undergo detailed forensic analysis as part of the investigation.

Sky’s Anti-Piracy Boss Hits Back

Matt Hibbert, Sky’s Director of Anti-Piracy, warned: “Illegal streaming networks are often highly organised, using sophisticated technology to distribute stolen content and avoid detection.”

He added, “It’s vital that the industry works together with law enforcement to tackle these networks. We’re grateful to the East Midlands Specialist Operations Unit (EMSOU) and Nottinghamshire Police for their support in taking this action.”
