Man Arrested After Police Officer Hit by Car in Uxbridge

A police officer was seriously injured after being struck by a car during a break-in incident in Uxbridge.

Officer Injured in Bold Incident

Police were called to Park Road at 9.45pm on Thursday, 29 July, following reports of suspects breaking into a property.

A plainclothes officer in his mid-20s responded to the call. While at the scene, he was hit by a passing car, suffering a broken ankle.

The officer was rushed to a central London hospital and is currently receiving treatment.

Driver Arrested at Scene

The driver, a man in his mid-40s who was passing by, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody as police continue their investigation.

Investigation Ongoing

At this early stage, detectives believe the assault was not targeted because the victim was a police officer. Enquiries are ongoing.
