Man Arrested After Brutal Pewsey Stabbing
A man is in custody after a terrifying stabbing in Pewsey last night. Police were called to Olympiad Road at around 9.30pm on October 3, where they found a man in his 50s seriously injured in the street.
Victim in Critical Condition
The victim had suffered stab wounds to his abdomen and was rushed to Southmead Hospital. He remains in a critical state.
Suspect Held on Attempted Murder Charges
A 31-year-old Pewsey man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. He is now being held at Melksham police station while officers investigate.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“This is a serious incident and the victim is currently in a critical condition,” said Detective Inspector Dean Garvin. “We believe a disturbance involving several people happened before the stabbing. We’ve spoken to several witnesses but suspect others have yet to come forward. If that’s you, please get in touch.”
“Incidents like this are rare in Pewsey, but when they happen, they cause worry and fear. There will be a heightened police presence in the area, so please don’t be alarmed,” he added.
