Man Arrested After 51-Year-Old Dies in Duffryn
A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 51-year-old in Newport.
Emergency Services Called to Scene
At around 4.40pm on Friday, paramedics rushed to Heron Way in the Duffryn area. They treated the victim outside a property, but sadly, he was declared dead at the scene, confirmed Gwent Police.
Investigation Underway
The arrested Newport man is currently in custody as police probe the incident. The victim’s family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
“Officers will be making further inquiries at this time and will remain at the scene as the investigation progresses,” said Detective Superintendent Nicholas Wilkie.
